A Key Safe is the answer! Given the amount of time we have been in the industry as well as the number of gates we look after, we see this happen quite often. Automated gates will unfortunately, from time to time stop working for a whole number of reasons.
Don’t worry we’re here to help!
Electric gates stop working at the worst of times, especially if you’re in a rush. Residents will call us in a panic as no one can get in or out of premises. This is when a Key Safe with a manual release key is invaluable!
So, to make the solving of the stuck electric gate as simple a solution as possible, we will need to know the following details when you or a resident calls our helpline for assistance in getting the automated gate open.
It’s important to have the following information when calling us…
- What position is the gate currently in, open or shut?
- Can you access the main electric power supply?
- Do you have a Key Safe?
- Do you have access to a Manual Release Key?
If you have a manual gate release key we can liaise with you or the trapped resident on how to manually open the gate, taking the heat out of a tricky situation.
Whilst we are supporting the stuck electric gate problem, we can also gain valuable info on the potential problem, whilst on the call. This action really helps with getting the stuck electric gate working efficiently again.
An automated gate engineer can then attend the problem gate during normal working hours armed with information from the initial call to further investigate the fault. This process alone can reduce the need for premium emergency call out charges, which nobody like!
In addition, whilst our gate engineer is on site, he will ensure the Manual Release Key is back in the Key Safe. It’s amazing how people will forget to replace the Manual Release Key in times of stress! Only making it even more frustrating if the gate gets stuck again and the key is missing!
