Automated Gates Won’t Open!
A Key Safe is the answer! Given our experience in the industry and the number of gates we manage, we often see this happen. Unfortunately, automated gates can sometimes stop working for many reasons.
Don’t worry we’re here to help!
Automated gates can fail at the most inconvenient times, particularly when you’re in a hurry. Residents often contact us in a panic because no one can enter or exit the property. This is when a key safe with a manual release key becomes incredibly valuable!
So, to make the solution for the stuck electric gate as simple as possible, we will need to know the following details when you or a resident calls our helpline for assistance in getting the automated gate open.
It’s essential to have the following information when calling us…
- What position is the gate currently in, open or shut?
- Can you access the main electric power supply?
- Do you have a Key Safe?
- Do you have access to a Manual Release Key?
If you have a manual gate release key, we can advise you or the trapped resident on how to open the gate manually, taking the heat out of a tricky situation.
While we support the stuck electric gate, we can also gain valuable information on the potential problem during the call. This action helps to get the stuck electric gate working efficiently again.
An automated gate engineer can then attend the problem gate during regular working hours, armed with information from the initial call, to investigate the fault further. This process alone can reduce the need for premium emergency call-out charges, which nobody likes!
In addition, while our gate engineer is on site, he will ensure the Manual Release Key is back in the Key Safe. It’s amazing how people forget to replace the Manual Release Key in times of stress, making it even more frustrating if the gate gets stuck again and the key is missing!
If, for some reason, you don’t have a secure Key Safe with your electric gates and manual release key in situ, we can help.
For the cost of £299, someone can talk you through opening the gate there and then dealing with an immediate emergency.
